The following photos show problems with the TRAX Mid-Jordan branch construction serving the Jordan Campus of Salt Lake Community College. With our focus on sustainability, we should be looking at how the TRAX Mid-Jordan branch is going to effectively serve the Jordan Campus, which is SLCC's growth campus. The following photo shows the campus being about 1 mile away (light standards) from the Mid-Jordan Branch. As matters stand, TRAX's serving the campus is problematic. A bus connection is going to be difficult because of the intermediate distance (and passengers don't like to change seats for a short distance). The writer thinks the Mid-Jordan branch needs to wye into the campus (railroaders and train buffs will know what I mean, but suffice it to say that I am advocating for TRAX direct service to the campus). The Jordan Campus is SLCC's "growth campus," so service here is critical. The best thing students and faculty alike can do to support sustainability is to get out of their cars and take TRAX. Next
